As a member of our Float Pool, you'll enjoy variety in your work while remaining part of a close-knit breast imaging team. With your home base at our Fairfax Breast Center, you'll provide coverage where needed throughout Northern Virginia, ensuring patients continue to receive timely, high-quality breast imaging services.

As a Float Breast Ultrasound Technologist, you'll provide outstanding breast imaging services while supporting multiple outpatient breast imaging locations throughout Northern Virginia.
Perform Breast Ultrasound Imaging
- Independently perform high-quality breast ultrasound examinations
- Acquire consistently excellent diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
- Adapt imaging techniques to accommodate patient anatomy and clinical indications
- Ensure patient comfort throughout each examination
- Evaluate sonographic anatomy and pathology for diagnostic accuracy
- Communicate pertinent findings to radiologists
- Maintain imaging quality standards across multiple locations
- Follow established breast imaging protocols and best practices
- Create a calm, reassuring experience for every patient
- Explain procedures with professionalism and empathy
- Build trust with patients during what can be an emotional experience
- Maintain positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, and coworkers
- Adapt quickly to different imaging centers and workflows
- Support teammates by providing coverage where needed
- Maintain consistency in patient care across all locations
- Represent Fairfax Radiology Centers with professionalism at every site
Required
- Current RDMS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to travel between Fairfax Radiology Centers locations
- One or more years of breast ultrasound experience
- RDMS Breast (BR) credential
- Experience working independently in an outpatient breast imaging environment
Within your first 90 days, you will:
- Confidently perform breast ultrasound examinations at multiple FRC locations
- Quickly adapt to varying workflows while maintaining exceptional quality
- Build strong working relationships with physicians and clinical teams across the organization
- Deliver consistently compassionate patient experiences regardless of location
- Become a trusted resource for breast imaging coverage throughout the Float Pool

Compensation
Based on your qualifications and experience, the compensation range for this position is:
$43.35 - $47.18 - $51.00 - $54.83 per hour
Placement within the range is determined by factors including experience, education, certifications, and internal equity.
